Our Daily Blessings! (:

Hey Everybody! I hope that you’re having a great time preparing for Thanksgiving! It’s hard to believe that it’s so close. It makes me wonder what happened to this year–it’s going so fast. So, here’s a few blessings that I’ve noticed in my life this past week.

1) Having the keys for ONE whole year!

Antique keysOne year ago tomorrow (November 18th) we got the keys for this house. One day earlier than we had planned we were able to bring a load or two over and begin the task of moving houses.  We were excited, overwhelmed and exhausted. It took us a lot longer than we had planned (5 days) but it was worth it. We began the task of unpacking and setting up house and got it done and decorated in record time.. It only took a week or two. But looking back over the last year we have often wondered how it is that it’s only been one year–It feels like we’ve been here forever!

2) Decorating for Christmas!! (:

Again, I feel as though I should warn you. If you’re one of those people that doesn’t like to even think about Christmas until the Friday after Thanksgiving you might just want to scroll on down to blessing number 3…

Last Friday, we began the mighty task of decorating for Christmas. In many ways it’s the first time we’ve really decorated this house for Christmas. We kept it very simple last year and just decorated the main rooms of the house. This year we’re planning on decorating the entire house. It’s a bit more challenging to find new homes for each decoration in this house. But, I’m excited to see this house all decked out for the Holidays. It’s going to be all warm and toasty and festive. It makes me very happy. (: And as a little bonus there are now TWO radio stations playing Christmas music!! (: (:

3) The Support of my Church family

I know that I have often in the last year taken the time to thank all of you wonderful readers for the support and encouragement that you have given me. But this week, I’d like to do it once more this time thanking some very special people in my life. My church family.

The Bible says that we are the children of God, therefore as such we are all a family. One of the reasons I love my church is that it really is like a big family. We can laugh, cry, joke, and worship together. I’m beyond blessed and thankful for each and every one of you! Your encouragement and love as I have grown and pursued the dreams that God has laid on my heart have meant so much more than you will ever know. Thank you so much for reading and supporting this little blog of mine. I truly appreciate everything that you all have done for me and my family over the years!

What are some of the blessings that you have noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below!

Until next time,

Bailey Sue

Hello everybody and welcome to your Friday! I hope that you’ve had a great start to November. Here’s a few of the blessings I’ve noticed in my life this past week.

1) The beginning of the best time of the year

It’s officially November. That means that we can now start thinking about all of the wonderful things ahead. Get-togethers with family, festive decorations, Christmas baking, Holiday dinners and so much more. This year I am determined to have a good year. I want to embrace the season that I am in and be thankful for what I have been blessed with. I want to keep my eyes open for those people that may need that little extra dose of Holiday cheer and brighten their day. I want to take advantage of every opportunity that comes along my path to spread the love of Jesus and some Christmas cheer. What are some fun ways you’re kicking of the Holiday season? I’d love for you to share them below!

2) CHRISTMAS MUSIC

Christmas CDs_with textIf you’re one of those people that prefers to have Christmas music begin playing the day after Thanksgiving I’m just gonna suggest that you scroll on down to blessing number three… For those of you that don’t mind starting the festive music immediately following Halloween; I’m right there with you! We started playing our massive collection of Christmas music (pictured above) on Wednesday. And I LOVE IT. I love listening to music and Christmas music is no exception. It takes me back to being a child and baking cookies, cleaning the house or working on school work while the festive tunes played in the background. What’s your favorite Christmas CD? I’m always looking to expand our collection… (:

3) Banana Nut Bread in NEW cast iron pans (:

Mom got some new cast iron pans for her birthday including two new bread pans. We are going to be making some homemade banana nut bread to break them in. I’m pretty positive it’s going to be really yummy!

Hey Ya’ll! I hope that you’ve had a good week. Here’s a few blessings from the past week that I’d like to share with you.

1) The peach trees have arrived

Peach Trees_with textOne of the things that we loved (and the only thing we miss) at the old house is the fruit trees that we had planted. We had five trees in total; three peach and two pear. We worked together to plant them and enjoyed watching them grow and produce fruit.

Live Plants_with textSadly, this house didn’t have any fruit trees on the property when we bought it but it will tomorrow! 🙂 We ordered 5 peach trees and they came today! We plan on planting them tomorrow. I’m a lot more excited than I thought I’d be at the prospect. But, hey, it’ll only be few years and we’ll have some homegrown peaches!!

2) Exciting plans to look forward to in the coming weeks…

With the end of October being upon us (how did that happen?!?!?) that means that the holidays are just around the corner. And you know what that means? It means that there’s all sorts of fun and festive things to do around town. We have already started planning to attend a few free Christmas events in our area and consulting cookbooks for some new holiday recipes. I’m looking forward to enjoying this Holiday season and all of the festivity along the way!

I want to remind you that you don’t always have to spend loads and loads of money to enjoy this time of the year. Look for fun things that are free or low cost. Remember that memories and fun times with family can’t always be bought. Most times it is what you make it. If you determine that you’re going to have a good year and be festive with what you have then you will. (And most times, kids never remember the super expensive things that you do to celebrate. They often times remember the little things..)

3) A fire in the fireplace

fire in the fireplaceI am SO excited to report that we we’re finally able to have our first fire in the fireplace! I know that we’ve only had it for less than a year but I really don’t know how we didn’t have one sooner. The warmth and warm glow that it gives makes the Christmas season just a bit more cozy and the winter just a bit more bearable. I look forward to the time when we are able to have fires everyday! All that wood that we’ve been cutting over the summer has been worth it!!

Fall In Blessings

Hey ya’ll! How’s your Friday been? This week I’m gonna do something a little different. Fall is now in full swing and to celebrate I’d like to share a few of my favorite Fall In blessings.

1) Fall in a cup

pumpkin flavored coffee I’m one of those people that is ALL things pumpkin this time of the year. I love the pumpkin spice creamer in either hot chocolate or coffee. I also just discovered this pumpkin flavored tea. It seriously smells like Fall and tastes pretty good too. Trinity even liked the smell!

2) Fall in a Can

air freshenerWhile out shopping earlier this year we came across this air freshener that was pumpkin scented and decided to try it out–IT SMELLED AMAZING!!

3) Fall in a Bag

wax meltsYou know those wax warmers? We have several of those throughout the house and we melt various wax scents in them ( we call wax melts smelly good things). We keep a bag of all the various wax melts, once they get melted down so far, so that we can make candles.

The other day Mom went upstairs to put another used smelly good thing in the bag and realized that it smelled really really good. So, yes, I ran up a flight of stairs to sniff the bag of smelly good things and got a wonderful whiff of Fall. 😉

What are some of your favorite Fall In things this year? I’d love for you to share them below! As I mentioned earlier I LOVE all things Fall and would love to try some of them out! Have a great weekend!

Until next time,

Bailey Sue

Happy Friday Ya’ll! How’s your week been? Here’s a few blessings from my week that I’d like to share with you.

1) Meeting John Godwin

Bailey Sue and family with Godwin1We recently had the opportunity to hear John Godwin (known as Godwin from the show “Duck Dynasty”) speak at a local church. It was really neat to hear his story and be encouraged by the things that he shared. We even got a duck call lesson! 🙂

2) The 1 year blogiversary

blog birthday1

I’m not a big cake eater so I celebrated with ice cream! (:

Yesterday marked the one year anniversary of Content In the Everyday. I have officially been doing this blog thing for an entire year–pretty crazy considering that I could never keep a journal as a child/teen. I am so thankful for this platform that I have been given and those of you that have encouraged me along the way! THANK YOU! I have grown a lot over the last year and am really excited to see where God leads me for year #2!

3) The support from my family

family support setting up1Something that I’ve realized recently is that I have been blessed with a big support system. From the start I have always had my parents rooting for me and instilling in me the truth that “I can do all things through Christ” (Philippians 4:13). From the time I graduated high school  and started on this part of my journey my siblings have been a huge support. From taking time out of their school day to help me set up props for pictures or creating a “photographer’s stand” after a long day and even just corralling the dog outside at night so I can get pictures of the moon. My grandmother, an aunt, uncle and cousin (that I know of) read the early drafts of blog posts and encouraged me to keep going and refine the gift that God gave me.  I am immensely thankful that I have the strong support from my family and the encouragement that they give.

Our Daily Blessings! (:

Hey everybody! It’s Friday–That means it’s time to think back over our week and think of a few blessings. I’m sharing mine below and would love if you would leave yours in the comments below!

1) FALL IS HERE!

Actually it’s here officially at 4:02 pm, but I’m planning on celebrating all day long! The funny thing is the weather hasn’t gotten the memo that it’s Fall yet. Here in Ohio it’s forecasted to be in the mid 80’s for the next week. :/ But, we’re just gonna embrace it and be thankful for it–the last little bit of Summer weather. How do you plan on celebrating the arrival of Fall? One way  you can celebrate is by visiting my shop here and purchasing a fall product to use everyday! 🙂

2) Celebrating my 21st Birthday with family

Blowing out candlesI am very thankful that I was able to celebrate my 21st birthday with family. On my actual birthday I just celebrated with my immediate family. On Wednesday I had a sudden surprise enter the kitchen…

I was sitting at the kitchen table waiting on the oven to preheat and cook lunch. While I was waiting I scrolled through Facebook and was watching a business related video with my back facing the driveway when Mom walked past. I seriously thought nothing of this. Then there was this noise—still didn’t think it was any big deal UNTIL I looked up and my Grandparents were suddenly standing there! They had decided late Tuesday night to come down and surprise me for my birthday. I’m still super stunned that I had no idea what was going on and didn’t hear the car door… We visited for a few hours and then we went to Cracker Barrel and had dinner! Grandma even told the waitress that it was my birthday so she brought me a free ice cream sundae (which was really good, by the way)! 🙂

3) Golden Hour Photography

This morning while Trinity was eating breakfast I decided to run outside for a few minutes and get a couple of pictures. I had heard other photographers talk about the “golden hour” which is that little bit of time right after sunrise and right before sunset when the light is at it’s best. I was pleasantly surprised by how soft the light was and just how easy it was to get pretty pictures.  I didn’t stay out there long but here’s a couple of my favorite pictures.

I absolutely LOVE this lighting… 🙂

Our Daily Blessings!(:

Hello everybody, welcome to your Friday! I hope that you have had a great week seeing all of the little ways that God has brightened your days. Here’s some of the blessings I’ve noticed this past week.

1) Our First Responders

I’m thankful that God gives everyone different strengths and weaknesses. The things that I can’t do or can’t do well someone else exceeds at. I’m thankful that God knows that we need all sorts of different people to do all sorts of different things. Monday was 9/11. A day that to thousands not in the United States of America is just another day. To Americans it’s a day that we will never forget. It’s the day that we were attacked for being that light on a hill–that place of freedom. Each year on the anniversary we remember. We remember loved ones that died. Those that sacrificed so that others could be saved from the smoke and fire. And we remember that even in the worst tragedies God is there with us and won’t let us face these hard things alone. I am beyond thankful that there are those willing to run into the fires while others are fleeing. I’m thankful for the sacrifice that they and their families make day after day and year after year so that we can all be kept safe.

2) The Fall decorations are out!!

Acorn PeopleAs many of you know I have been super excited and counting down the days until we can finally decorate for Fall. On Tuesday we pulled out all the decorations and put them around the house. We decided to decorate the outside Monday night because it was supposed to rain all day Tuesday. It didn’t take us long to put the decorations out but I LOVE it. The house looks all warm and cozy and festive. 🙂

3) THE BEAVER DAM IS GONE!!!

Beaver Dam Before and AfterSo remember earlier in the Spring when I mentioned the Beaver Dam and how we were working on getting rid of it? Well, good news! It’s GONE! I remember thinking that it would take us FOREVER to get rid of it but it really didn’t take that long. The days that we were outside cutting wood we would just pick up a pile of the Beaver Dam and throw it on the fire every so often. We even took down one of the smaller trees back in the corner.

As I think about the Beaver Dam being down I can think of three blessings–three things that I am thankful for.

  1. IT’S GONE! Now when we look out the sun room windows we don’t see a huge pile of sticks that need burned we can now dream and plan ways to use that space more effectively.
  2. Working together. It took all five of us working outside and working together to be able to finally get rid of it. Those memories of working together will last us a lifetime.
  3. Wood for Christmas. I know that it’s a little early to start thinking about Christmas but one of the things I have wanted to do Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is to have logs burned in the fireplace instead of the 4x4s or slats. Now, I know that all wood burns and provides heat but I just think having logs in the fireplace for Christmas would be very old fashioned and pretty. Since we took down a tree from the back corner we have 2018’s Christmas wood. 🙂 We even found a few small pieces that were stuck in the Beaver Dam that we can use this year!

What are some of the blessings that you have noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!

Hey Ya’ll! Welcome to September!(: Here’s a few of the blessings I’ve noticed this past week!

1) Hope in the midst of tragedy

Hurricane Harvey has brought devastation on so many people in the Houston, Texas area. But amid the tragedy there is HOPE. People are coming together to donate truck load after truck load of supplies. Others are donating their time and money to help these people who have lost everything. I’ve enjoyed watching the news coverage because it reminds that even though bad things happen there is still hope. People are still helping people. It encourages me to know that no matter how bad the world seems to have gotten in recent years there are still good people willing to love and help others the way Jesus would.

2) IT’S SEPTEMBER 1ST!!!

Okay Ya’ll I am so happy that it’s finally September! We all feel like we got a little jipped on celebrating Fall last year due to our move. But thankfully we have no plans of moving again in the near future and we can really savor this time of the year. I’m really looking forward to sweaters, boots, hoodies, and bonfires. Before we know it, it’ll be time to light the wood burning stove and curl up on the couch with a good movie and some hot cocoa!

3) Everything Pumpkin

Pumpkin Nut CookiesSpeaking of September 1st I am also very thankful that it once again is time for everything pumpkin! 🙂 Pumpkin Spice creamer, pumpkin nut cookies (which I’m making later today!) and pumpkin granola bars (which tasted really good by the way!) Are you a fan of all things pumpkin? If so, I’d love to hear what pumpkin-y things are your favorite–tell me in the comments below!

Happy Friday Ya’ll! I hope that you’ve had a good week . Here’s some of the blessings that I have noticed in my life this past week.

1) Getting Wood ready for winter

Stacked WoodThis week we’ve been cutting a lot of wood to get ready for the upcoming cooler temperatures. I can not tell you how excited I am for Fall. I am ready for jeans, sweaters, hoodies, bonfires and fires in the fireplace. It’s been a really good workout moving and stacking wood a couple of nights this past week. And it feels good to know that we are all working together for a common goal and that there is no job that is too small…All jobs are important.

2) Seeing Dreams Come True

Firefighter Bradley

2006 and 6 years old–2017 and 17 years old

Before each of us kids started Kindergarten we went though a program called “Passport to Safety”. The program taught kids the importance of stranger danger, when to call 911, and introduced us to first responders. One particular day was Firefighter day. Some of the local Firemen would come with their ambulances and firetrucks so that we could be somewhat familiar with them and not be scared of them. There was also a firefighter that put on all of his gear so that we could see what he looked like and in the event of a fire run to him and not away from him. This was Bradley’s favorite day (and my least favorite day–I still get a teeny bit creeped out by the ambulances.)

This week Bradley has had the opportunity to help out with the program. He went yesterday and got to put on all the gear (including the breathing apparatus for the very first time) and be that firefighter that the kids had to high five (and occasionally hug). Today he has the pleasure of being Sparky (who terrified him as a child). It’s really neat to see him come “full circle” if you will. From a star struck child loving the engines to a 17 year old that gets to dress up in all the real gear and be on the engine.

3) New Designs added

Owl Scarecrows Facebook Image for BlogIn preparation for Fall I have added a few new designs to my shop. You can view and purchase them here, here and here if you wish. I plan on adding more in the next couple of weeks so if you don’t see one you absolutely love just hang tight there’s more coming…

What are some of the blessings that you have noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below.

Have a great weekend and be safe watching the eclipse Monday!

Hello and Welcome to your Friday! Here’s a few blessing from this past week.

1) Mind Mapping my Goals:

Mind Mapping My GoalsEarlier this week I decided to sit down and create a mind map listing all of my goals and dreams for each aspect of the business. And you know what? It was so invigorating. It was something that most business owners and bloggers suggest and something that I thought that I could just get by with a mental list. I was wrong. I found that getting it all out on paper gave me clarity by clearly and specifically defining my purpose, dreams, and goals.

2) Cooler Night Time Temperatures:

As I’ve said in earlier posts I LOVE Fall. So, I am very happy to report that although it’s not quite mid-August it has been much cooler in the evenings!! We are almost to the perfect bonfire weather! And hopefully it won’t be much longer until we are enjoying a fire in the wood burning stove!

3) A Day at the Farm:

Buckeye SundaeFeeding the GoatsLast Saturday we went to explore a local dairy farm and check out a car show that they were hosting. We looked around at all the old fashioned cars and fire trucks. After that we bought lunch and ice cream. Mom suggested that her and I split their “Buckeye Sundae”. I was a bit miffed at this suggestion but went along for the ride and boy was I thankful! The sundae was amazing! It was almost comparable to a “Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup” in ice cream form. It was really rich and so good. I could have eaten the whole thing but I would’ve been sicker than a dog. Splitting it with Mom enabled me to enjoy it without being sick. Then we walked around some more and I got to feed some goats.
