Our Daily Blessings! (:

Welcome to your Friday! I hope that you’ve had a good week! This week has been really good. I’ve learned some lessons and been blessed in so many ways. Here’s a few blessings from this past week.

1) A nice Valentine’s Day

Usually I get really depressed and down around Valentine’s Day. This year was different though: I actually enjoyed it. We had to run to the store that afternoon to get some last minute things for our dinner. While walking through the store I couldn’t help but smile. I saw several older gentlemen walking around with flower bouquets. Ya’ll, it really is the small things. It just made me so happy to see these men getting flowers for their wives.

Later that afternoon we realized that we ran out of powered sugar and needed some for our cake. So, Mom and I ran to the store again. The first store we checked didn’t have any and as we were walking out this nice gentleman kindly held the door open for us as we left. We checked the store next door and they had some!! Once we payed for the sugar the cashier told us “Happy Valentine’s Day!” as we were leaving.

We then went home and finished making our dinner we made Swedish meatballs with egg noodles, salad, roasted carrots, and of course, chocolate cake with ice-cream! It was a good day spent with people that I love. And that’s what the day’s about right?

2) FREE Popcorn

Act of Kindness Popcorn for BlogIf you know me personally you probably know how much I love the word free! I also LOVE popcorn. When I was younger Daddy would have to pop three bags for watching a movie and it would be gone in 30 minutes. Although I didn’t know that he had figured out the proper amount of time to cook the microwave popcorn in our microwave…I learned that the hard way at my grandparents house. It was so burned the birds didn’t even eat it! :0 So, needless to say I’ve been banned from ever making microwave popcorn. 🙂

But, when we ran into the bank yesterday they were giving out FREE bags of popcorn as an act of kindness. I really loved the saying on the bag too. I find that it’s really encouraging and inspires me to be better.

3) A Safe Shelter

Last night it rained pretty hard. As Mom and Dad went to pick up Bradley from working at the Fire Station we noticed this furry thing hanging out in porch roof. Upon further investigation we were THOROUGHLY  pleased that it was a bird and not a mouse. (THAT is a blessing in and of itself!). But it reminded us to be thankful for the shelter that we do have. We have a nice house that is much warmer and toastier than our old one. We have wood to burn in a cozy fireplace. Blankets, warm clothes, and hot drinks to keep us warm. In the warmer months we have Air Conditioning to keep it cool in the summer and most times we don’t even need that…we have so many windows that if we just open them on nice day the breeze cools the house just nicely.

I hope that this post encourages you to know that blessings aren’t always the BIG things in life. Yes, there are times that BIG prayers are answered and God comes through in truly miraculous  ways. But I think that just like with Elijah God is often in the “still small voice”. (1 Kings 19:11-13). I wonder if we’re often so busy looking for God in the BIG things that we miss His still small voice…

What are some of the blessings that you have noticed in your life–the small ways that God has come trough for you this week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!

Until next time,

Hey Everybody! I hope that you’ve had a wonderful week! Here’s a few blessings from this past week that I’d like to share with you!

1) Finishing some of our projects!

2018 Makeovers with TextWe’ve finally finished both the piano and my office!! (: I’m so glad to have my office done and be able to work in it. I was a little worried that I wouldn’t work in it enough but I’m finding that I LOVE it down here. It’s quiet, I’m not as easily distracted, and I can hear every time laundry is ready to be switched over–so as long as I’m working there’s no excuse for me not to stay up on it. (I about jumped out of my skin a couple of times it went off yesterday!).

2) New Additions!

I spent some time over the last week or so adding some new additions to the business side of things. One of those additions was adding a shop now button to my Facebook page. When you click the button it will take you directly to my shop where you browse and purchase products.

Shop now buttonThe other thing that I added was an Instagram account. I’ve had some people recommend the site for some time now I just hadn’t investigated it. Well, I finally got one! And so far (despite the learning curve) I’ve really enjoyed it. If you’re on Instagram and would like to follow me you can do so here.

3) An opportunity to give

Tim and Julie

**Posted with permission**

This sweet family attends my church and has been very instrumental in our family’s life over the past several years. Recently they began the process of trying to adopt a child to add to their  family. I can tell you that this family loves God and seeks to honor Him in their daily lives. Any child would be extremely blessed to have these people as their forever family. Recently, Tim and Julie have been approved for a $3,000 matching grant. Acts 20:35 tells us that “it is more blessed to give than to receive”. I am asking you on behalf of this family to consider donating to their adoption fund. I know that each and every gift that they receive is so greatly appreciated. They don’t take any of this lightly and it means so much to them to have so many wonderful people helping them to fulfill their longing and desire to add a child to their family. If you’d like read their story and donate you can do so HERE. If you can’t donate that’s okay. Please just consider sharing the above link with your friends and family and adding them to your daily prayers.  Thank you in advance!

Our Daily Blessings! (:

Welcome to the first Friday of February! I can’t believe that we’re already 1/12th of the way through the year…So, in celebration of it being a Friday and all I’d love to share a few of this week’s blessings with you.

1) God’s guiding hand through open doors

Recently I had a new opportunity presented to me. I took it and as I began my research I realized that this was indeed a very good opportunity but not for the original reason that I had thought. I’m thankful for God’s hand guiding me and showing me the way to go. As I’ve moved forward I also learned that there’s a few more doors that are opening for me as well. There’s still a lot more to do but I’m thankful to keep moving the right direction.

2) Sunshine

The weather has been CRAZY here. One day it’s close to 50° and the next it’s 30°. But, hey, that’s Ohio for you! I’m thankful that despite the weather’s ups and downs there are still things that we can count on each day. God will always love us. He’ll always be with us. There’s always a rainbow after the rain and eventually the sun will come out again.

3) A Praying Supportive of FamilyPraying Hands

In the last few weeks our family (both immediate and extended) has had some challenges. There’ve been procedures and sickness, work changes, and minor health concerns. But through it all one of the most uplifting things to see has been everyone rallying around to pray for each other. A group text goes out updating everyone of a prayer request or problem and then everyone responds some say that they are praying and others volunteer to help in some of the smallest ways. Other times we just notify the family “informant” (;  and will get a follow up call from another family member just checking in to see how we’re doing. We’ve even extended this prayer chain to the other side of the family at times as well. When a health concern or situation arises with an in-law of the extended family the same response is given. Despite our differences at times we can all agree that there’s a God who loves and helps His people and we try to do the same.

Hello and happy Friday ya’ll! I hope that you’ve had a good week. Here’s a few blessings that I’ve noticed this week that I’d like to share with you.

1) Exciting improvements to my office

Office DecorWe’ve run into a small snag as far as me moving in down there so that’ll have to wait a little while…hopefully I’ll be able to move in in the next week or two (fingers crossed). But, I was able to go shopping to purchase some decorations to brighten up the walls! I was able to get everything I had originally wanted and thanks to a coupon and a good sale I was able to get a few more small pieces that fit perfectly!

I also wanted to let you know that I didn’t forget about showing you the piano makeover. We’ve also ran into a snag there too…hopefully we’ll be able to get the candle holders in the next week or so too! I’ll be sure to update you on both of these projects as they progress!

2) Breathing Room

coloring picture_with textI am SO thankful that we have FINALLY found a good schedule! With this new schedule I am now able to get everything done that I need to in a day (provided that I don’t get distracted on the internet and make excuses–it’s a work in progress) and STILL have some breathing room. I am thankful that I have a support system that reminds me that I need a break from working on the weekends and that I have FINALLY made the decision to stay OFF my phone (internet and email) on the weekends! I find that doing this makes me feel better. I am able to better embrace my life and begin doing things instead of wishing I was more productive. We may not do “big” things each and every weekend but we are doing things. And most times the most memorable things aren’t the big things they’re the little things that we often miss.

3) A new opportunity

Thanks to the new breathing room in my days and business things settling down some I am able to look into a new opportunity. I’m a little nervous about this and excited about the potential and growth this could bring.

What are some of the blessings that you have noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a fantastic weekend!

Our Daily Blessings! (:

Good Afternoon everyone! I hope that you’ve had a great week and were able to enjoy the snow this past week. Here’s a few blessings that I’ve noticed in my life this past week.

1) Going through old family photos

Family pictures_with textWe’ve been working on little projects around the house to make it fit more of us. One of these projects is the Piano Makeover. We decided to take some old family photos, put them in some nice frames and sit them on the piano. Then we took an old peanut butter jar and covered it in burlap and we’re working on covering an old oats container in twine and placing flowers in them. The project should be finished on Monday!! 🙂 Pictures to be posted on my Facebook page here early next week.

2) Working on my office

Ya’ll I am SO excited! One of the other projects that we’re working on is converting a little nook in the basement/rec room into a small office for me! 🙂 🙂 I have always wanted a little office to decorate and I can’t wait to decorate my little nook! There’s a few other little projects that we need to finish but hopefully everything will be done next Friday and I can officially “move in”.

3) Celebrating 200

i remember a time early on in my blogging journey when I wondered if I’d even be able to keep the blog updated because I could NEVER keep a journal as a child. But I realized something a little surprising yesterday… I now have over 200 posts on the blog! Today’s post makes 201! I am extremely thankful for the opportunity, freedom, support, and love I’ve received along the way! I’m looking forward to 200+ in the years to come!

What are some little projects that you’re working on this year? I’d love for you to share them either in the comments below or on my Facebook page here. I’d also love to hear some of the little blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week. Please share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!

Our Daily Blessings! (:

Hello and welcome to your Friday! Congratulations, you’ve made it to the end of another week! Here’s a few blessings that I’ve noticed in my life this past week.

1) A NEW Dryer

About a week or two ago we decided that our dryer probably wasn’t safe to use anymore. The last several months it has run really loud and sounds like metal grinding metal. One of the last times we used it, it left black streaks on the blankets. So, we’ve been using a make shift clothes line and hanging ALL of our clothes. We usually hang the vast majority of our clothes because we don’t want them to shrink or the deigns and colors to fade. However I never realized how much we actually use our dryer! I am so thankful that we finally have a safe working dryer…Now I can finally get caught up on all the laundry! (:

2) The house being back to normal

Chairs-with textLast week our main goal was to take down the Christmas decorations. It took us all week, but thankfully they are nicely packed away for next year. We’ve had some very, very cold temperatures here in Ohio lately and realized that our sun room is currently not usable, so we’ve had to rearrange a few things so that we can keep the doors closed until we need to go outside or get wood. We’ve also gone through a couple of smaller areas of the house and gotten rid of several things that we no longer want or feel fits this house. We’ve rearranged quite a bit since the start of the new year and I am glad to say that the house is finally starting to feel normal again… I’m excited to see how all of our plans will come together to make this house more us and more like home over the coming year.

3) Exciting things ahead

We’ve decided this year that we’re going to make the house more us. We’re going to do some minor renovations and utilize space more effectively. Using some things that we have on hand and some new things that we will purchase we are going to make this house more like home. I’m SO excited to bring you along on the journey and share some of the fun things that we are working on this year! (:

What are some of the blessings that you have noticed in your life this week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend (and stay warm)! 😉

MERRY CHRISTMAS YA’LL! I can’t believe that it’s only three days until Christmas! Here’s a few blessings from this past week that I’d love to share with you.

1) Christmas with a friend

One of my close friends came over to the house on Monday and we had a little Christmas celebration! We exchanged gifts, drank coffee and cocoa, watched Christmas movies, played games and colored pictures. It was nice to take some time out of our busy schedules to catch up and visit.

2) Christmas baking

One of my favorite things to do this time of the year is to bake Christmas cookies. I love eating them fresh out of the oven. We’re finally doing some of our baking this week, that way the cookies stay fresh for Christmas! 🙂 What are some of your favorite Christmas cookie recipes? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below!

3) Christmas at Home

Christmas Lights on a houseThis is the first year in a very long time that I will be able to be home for Christmas. Usually on Christmas we wake up early, open our gifts and then drive to northern Ohio to see family. If we’re not driving to see family we have some other out-of-town relatives spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with us. I LOVE spending time with my family and getting to see everyone, but I’m really excited to spend Christmas at home with just the 5 of us. We’re getting older now and it may not be this way much longer. Next year Bradley could be working, Jojo volunteering, etc. So, I plan on enjoying every bit of the time that I can. We’ve already declared Christmas Day a pajama day around here!

What are some of the daily blessings that you’ve noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below.

I hope that ya’ll have a wonderful Christmas!

Until next time,

Our Daily Blessings! (:

Hey everybody! I hope that your having a great end to your week. Here’s a few of the blessings I’ve noticed in my life this past week.

1) Seeing a wild deer

While we were out walking the other day and helping a neighbor on their property we happened to look over and saw a wild deer bounding away from us. The buck looked only to be a couple of years old (His antlers weren’t very large)… We were all kind of wondering if he was the same little guy we rescued a few years ago on the same property.

2) A Roaster

Saturday night the heating element went out in our oven! Just one day before we had people over for our small group Christmas celebration. So we decided to cook the ham in the roaster..It worked great. It took us a couple of days to replace it so we made our salami in the roaster. So far, so good. I’m thankful that we have a roaster and a griddle to use when the oven is out. Who knew that toast would be good on the griddle??

3) The gifts are all wrapped and placed under the tree

Christmas Tree_with textWe finally finished all of our Christmas shopping and wrapping! All the gifts are under the tree patiently waiting to be enjoyed by their various recipients. How are all of your Christmas festivities coming along?  I’d love to hear in the comments below!

Welcome to your Friday! I hope that you have had a good week filled with some Christmas cheer! Here’s a few blessings from this past week.

1) A NEW gingerbread recipe

ginger bread men_with textLast weekend we explored a local historical park’s Christmas festivities. One of the old houses had people dressed in the historical clothing selling gingerbread cookies made from an 1845 recipe and roasted chestnuts (which weren’t as good as I expected). But if you went over to the summer kitchen there was another man dressed in historical clothing that was making the gingerbread cookies and you could take a copy of the recipe that was printed in their print shop. So, earlier this week we decided to make them. And let me tell you; they are some of the BEST gingerbread cookies that I have ever eaten! As a bonus they smell amazing too!

2) SNOW

We had some errands to run yesterday and as we were leaving snow was falling from the sky! It’s been very cold here–I think the  weather finally figured out how close Christmas was. Nothing stuck yet but that didn’t diminish our excitement. We all wanted to break out in song!

3) Being DONE with Christmas shopping!

Woohoo! I have finally finished all of my Christmas shopping this year! We  went to a few stores yesterday afternoon and I was able to finish all of my shopping. Which means that all that’s left is my favorite part. The wrapping! How are ya’ll coming along on your Christmas shopping? I’d love to hear in the comments below!

I hope that ya’ll have had a great week! I’d love to hear some of the blessings that you’re experiencing in your life in the comments below! Have a great weekend!

Ladies and Gentleman…

                                               WELCOME TO DECEMBER!

I can’t believe that Christmas is so soon! I’ve noticed that it doesn’t really feel like Christmas I think that it’s in part to this week’s first blessing…

1) The Spring like weather

When most people think December they think frigid temperatures and snow (I’m still praying that we get a white Christmas though). This week we’ve been blessed with some very nice weather. It’s been in the 50’s most of this week and very sunny. The other day I was wearing a Christmas t-shirt with a flannel over top and wasn’t freezing. I plan on enjoying it while it lasts. Because before you know it, it’ll be January, cloudy and cold. So soak up the sun and warmth while you can!

2) Thanksmas

This weekend my Grandmother and Step-Grandfather are in town to celebrate our annual Thanksmas. We have a big meal and exchange gifts.

Preparing FoodGlazing the HamOnce again everyone does a little something to help. Grandma always brings Overnight Salad–this stuff is my absolute favorite. I could eat an entire bowl myself given the opportunity. She also brings dinner rolls.

Setting the TableThis year we’re going to have ham, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and a few other sides. And of course we’re going to have pumpkin pie. After we eat we’ll exchange gifts and check out a local historical park’s Christmas festivities.

3) God’s hand of protection

As we were putting the finishing touches on the Thanksmas preparations last night Bradley, Billie Jo, and Mom heard this noise. They said that it sounded like someone had blown a tire on the road outside our house. At the time I was downstairs doing some laundry. As I came upstairs I knew something had happened but I didn’t think that it was a big deal. I went to sort the laundry and then heard a car horn that wouldn’t go off. Upon further investigation we discovered that the driver had run the car off the road narrowly missing a couple of trees and power polls. The driver just got a broken nose and no one else was harmed.

Although I don’t wish harm on anyone I am thankful to see the help that was received yesterday. All of our neighbors came out to see if they could help and worked to keep the driver calm. They stayed out there and helped to make sure that the driver’s children got picked up from daycare and gave some of their time to help a fellow human being.

What are some of the blessings that you have noticed in your life this past week? I’d love for you to share them in the comments below! Have a great weekend!

Until next time,
